Online Component -Topic 1 COVID-Safe Business (All Licence Categories must complete this Compulsory Topic)

This topic will consist of Material and Assessment to complete in your own time and will be provided upon Enrolment.

The objective of this topic is to provide an overview of how to ensure property industry workplaces are COVID Safe. Content delivered through this course will reflect relevant COVID-19 workplace health and safety guidelines published by SafeWork Australia.

Compulsory Topics (MUST complete two of the following topics in addition to Topic 1):

Compulsory Topics offered via Distance Education (Material & Assessment completed in Self Paced Learning)

Topic 2A Disclosure of Material Fact – 1 Hour (Applicable to Real Estate & Stock & Station Agents)

The objective of this topic is to provide an overview of the legally required disclosure requirements for licensed agents under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002 (the Act), with a particular focus on material facts.

Topic 2B –  Building Defects and the Residential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement Powers) Act 2020 (Real Estate, Strata, On-Site)
The objective of this topic is to provide an overview of the Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme, as well as an overview of the changes introduced as part of the Residential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement Powers) Act 2020 (RAB Act). On completion of this topic a person will be able to demonstrate competency in the identified learning outcomes.

Topic 2C – Supervisions Guidelines & Rules of Conduct (Real Estate, Strata, Stock & Station)
This topic provides an overview of an employee and supervisor’s obligations under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002 and Property and Stock Agents Regulation 2014. On completion of this topic a person will be able to demonstrate competency of the prescribed learning outcomes detailed below.

Topic 2D Underquoting – 1 Hour (Applicable to Real Estate & Stock & Station Agents)

This topic involves understanding agent responsibilities for marketing a property for sale including revising the estimated selling price and advertising obligations. On completion of this topic a person will be able to demonstrate competency of the prescribed learning outcomes detailed below.

Topic 2E & Topic 2F – Business Agents – Appraisal & Advertising

This topic involves business agents understanding their legal and ethical responsibilities when writing ads for the sale of a business.

This topic also involves business agents understanding the preparation of business appraisals (requirement to exercise skill, care and due diligence and providing an estimated selling price or range), how to select the appropriate appraisal method, and, what should be included in an appraisal report.

Topic 2G Commercial Agent Agreement – 1 Hour (Applicable to Real Estate Agents)

This topic involves understanding agent responsibilities for marketing a commercial property for sale or lease. On completion of this topic a person will be able to demonstrate competency of the prescribed learning outcomes detailed below.

Topic 2H Short Term Rental Accommodation Code of Conduct (Applicable to Real Estate, Strata Management & On-Site Property Managers)

The objective of this topic is to provide an overview of the Short-term Rental Accommodation Code of Conduct (the STRA Code) which commenced on 18 December 2020.

Real Estate CPD Requirements

All real estate agents are required to complete 3 compulsory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours each year (historically this was 12 points) and 3 hours of elective CPD. All Class 1 Agents are required to complete an additional 3 hours of Business Skills. Leverage Academy gives you access to a broad range of high quality, accurate and agency-specific training.

Virtual Classroom CPD (23 March 2021 – 22 March 2022)

Registration for the Compulsory Real Estate CPD Courses in 2021 with Leverage Academy is now open and will be delivered through our Virtual Classroom. These sessions will run for three hours and cover topics which are mandatory learning areas chosen by NSW Fair Trading.

Common Questions

How are my CPD hours are awarded?

You must attend the live CPD course and successfully complete a small exam we provide to be awarded with 3 compulsory CPD hours.

I purchased the electives package, how are my elective subjects awarded?

To achieve 3 hours of elective CPD you must watch 3 of the elective subject videos and return a declaration form.

How does virtual classroom work?

Just like face-to-face training, during this virtual training class we will have breaks and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
